And Look At What Happened To Me

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Köprüsü

OK, I typed a lovely, lovely intro which I was very proud of for today’s blog. Went for a long lunch at cute cafe on Bosporus with the office girls and came back to find that my Laptop had decided to crash on me. Stupid thing. The post was all lovely and romantic, about how today was the actual first day of spring with the bright sun streaming through the windows to warm up cold our hardened hearts. I had put in words and phrases from the ‘We are young’ song to brighten it up, feel young and free. How we can burn, burn brighter than the sun and all.

‘If I were lucky today would have gone smoothly…’

But seeing how Windows made sure that little piece went out the window and autosave decided not take over and use its small electronic brain, you are now left with me moaning about how unlucky I am and how my amazing lines went up into dust because of a stupid computer. Just watch I can just picture this computer collapsing as I type…

‘If I were lucky I would not have been born to moaners…’

‘If I were lucky…’ is a lovely saying or phrase in Turkish that sort ends with however you want it to end. People are generally very funny, witty, critical, rude, pessimistic and dull about it. The most common one being, ‘If I were lucky I would have been born rich,’ it’s everyone’s favourite. Mine personally is ‘If I were lucky I would have been taller…’ And look at what happened to me..

About An Addled Moment

I came to Istanbul to discover not only this beautiful city and its nightlife but I’m also here to discover me.
